Green Apple Juice

March 5, 2012 by Mark Sylvester

tumblr_m0eb9ol7Bh1r7ejh9 Making this delicious juice is easy. I was inspired to make it this evening after watching the movie Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead, which really made me glad that we started incorporating juice into our daily diet. See my post on Green Love to read more about our mainstay. Here are the ingredients (wash them really well):
  • 4 organic Granny Smith Apples (low in sugar),
  • 2 D’Anjou Pears (very firm, not really edible, but perfect for the juicer),
  • 1 Meyers Lemon (we like tart, you can omit it)
  • 1/2 inch off a Ginger root (this will make it hot, which we also like, adjust accordingly, though it’s amazing for your digestion).
Juice everything in your Green Power or similar juicer. Yes, you can dust off that old Jack LaLanne Juicer if that’s all you have – better than no juice at all. This makes enough for three tall glasses – I could easily drink more – but good to not have that much natural sugar late at night. For those of you that were paying attention to the photo closely, you noticed the Glass Straw. You can find these gems at One Lucky Duck in NYC – can also order online. After a week at #TED, even though we ate great food, it’s a good idea to clean out the pipes and this is exactly the type of tasty treat to do that work while we sleep.
